embroidery composition

Using my concept and development boards for inspiration I created this composition for the embroidered yolk on the front of the skirt. I started measuring the amount of fabric that I would need to fit into my embroidery hoop while stitching. I cut two pieces of fabric on the fold, one lay on the straight grain while the other below lay on a 45 degree angle on the bias. I then tacked the two pieces of fabric together with a simple running stitch. I plan on hand stitching and beading the composition for the skirt.
