To create gathers on the trousers I'll be using framilon as well as using a 4 thread overlocker to neaten up the trouser leg seams.
3 thread overlocker will be used on the top to create the ribbon strips from the Superdry knit dress. The baby overlocker will be used to create a lettuce edge on the stretchy knit. I'll also be using the overlocker to cut the Superdry knit dress as I work to create the lettuce edge to prevent laddering and fraying of the fabric.
For the finishing and bindings, I'll be using the jersey interlock fabric, cutting across the stretch.
Cut the fabric for the top 10% smaller than the armhole to prevent unnecessary stretch and a bad fit.
Using framilon on the flatbed, reducing finished length of trousers by 20%, (e.g. finished length 1m cut framilon 80cm).
