initial designs

To begin designing, I first gathered some jersey material I had left from my summer projects and began draping them on a stand to create some simple silhouettes and shapes to begin collaging and designing from.

I took photos of the draped material from different angles and took shapes from these images to collage on top of my templates.

I also began to experiment with washes of colour on top of my collages. The jersey fabric I used to drape is a very similar weight to one of the Superdry garments I chose to work with so I think they could work very well together. The weight of the fabric produces some beautiful gathers just as the Superdry garment did.
