Do social media influencers impact teen fashion trends ?

The main objective of this study is to look closely at how media, particularly social media, has had an impact on the fashion industry and its consumers. The study is going to look at how teens are influenced by fashion choices made my celebrities, social media influencers, popular TV and online on social media. The study plans to explore how mainstream media has an impact on the fashion and style choices of teens and influencers and how they shop as a whole online on social media apps like Instagram, Pinterest and Depop.

The study aims to explore the ways social media and its assets, such as social media influencers, are used by fashion brands, and teens to influence and set trends in 2020. The study aims to eloper how teens consume social media and its influencers content and how it’s used to inform their fashion choices. The study looks to explore how social media impacts fashion trends and in turn fashion brands and the fashion industry as a whole.

Another reason for this study is to look further at the fashion trends being created by influencers and looking deeper into how they represent teens, fashion brands and the influencers themselves. This study will be looking further into where these trends come from and how they have evolved to become an online influencer trend for teens and fashion brands in 2020.

The potential 2-3 key areas of discussion within the proposed study include; 'How do fashion brands use social media influencers to create and market trends ?', 'Does social media and its influencers impact fashion trends, shopping trends and in turn, fashion brands ?' and 'Do future fashion trends rely on influencers ?'.
